Villa Anthemis
The 67 m2 villa was built in 2016. This villa offers one bedroom with a king size bed, a bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and an open plan sitting-room. The sitting room contains two brick-build beds for additional sleeping. The villa offers two terraces – the main terrace and a second easterly facing terrace with a BBQ grill. The 25 m2 swimming pool is accessed from this. From the terrace there are magnificent views of the Ida mountains and the Messara plane.
Villa Anthemis lies sheltered from the wind in a quiet location at the edge of Kamilari village, on the way towards the district of Metochi from where the Messara plane stretches all the way towards Crete’s largest mountain, Psiloritis (2456 m).
The villa is only a 3 minute walk to the village centre and 5 minutes by car to the beach in Kalamaki.

The Village of Kamilari
Kamilari is a small village in the south of Crete, far from the touristic north. Here the hospitable population offer a taste of authentic Cretan village life.
The village of 400 inhabitants is situated on a hill which offers dazzling views of the Ida mountains, the Messara plane and the Libyan sea. The village has a small supermarket which is open all year round, coffee shops and several tavernas with traditional Cretan cuisine.
Excursions to the surrounding areas
Crete is the answer to the eternal family question on whether to visit the mountains or the sea. With its unique flora and fauna, Mediterranean climate, mountains, gorges, planes, coasts, endless beaches and coves - Crete offers all in one.
Culture
Crete is shrouded in myth and will inspire you to make excursions around the whole island. Not far from Kamilari, you will find the archaeological excavations of Faistos and Agia Triada as well as one of the most significant tombs of the island.
Beaches
Kamilari offers some of the most beautiful beaches in close proximity. For example the 4km long Komos beach invites you to long, leisurely walks. Additionally you will find some coffee shops and tavernas. Sun loungers and parasols are available.
Matala and the Red Beach, Preveli, Aigio Pharago, Agia triad and Aigos Pavlos are equally amazing sites for excursions or to relax at a beach.
Nature
Nature lovers will not be disappointed. Over two dozen kinds of Orchid can be found here as well as the wild herbs of Crete and many other rare plants. Visit the ‘Olivemama’, an amazing 2600 year old Olive tree.
